Fighting germs has never smelt so good!
Not only do our soaps help fight off and protect against day to day germs and irritants, but they’re all natural and organic too.
Cough and cold season always reminds us to consider our personal health and wellness practices and those of our loved ones. What steps are you taking to prevent the spread of germs to those around you?
Two of the most accredited health and wellness organizations- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and The World Health Organization (WHO) are reminding us the best (and easiest) ways we can fight against and protect ourselves from the spread of germs and bacteria.
Specific Instructions
One of the most important methods of defence says WHO is to wash your hands regularly. “Clean hands protect against many infections, including the flu. Keeping your hands clean is an easy way to keep yourself and your family healthy.”
It is advised to thoroughly wash hands with soap and running water and dry with a single-use towel or apply and use alcohol-based sanitizer if running water isn’t readily available.
We Recommend our Moisturizing Hand Soaps
Our hand soap is made from all natural, organic ethically sourced ingredients and comes in both liquid and bar soap form.
A common question we get is: are natural soaps as effective at killing germs as other soaps?
Absolutely! When following the thorough guidelines The World Health Organization (WHO) gives us and lathering with any of our natural soaps for at least 20 seconds, the highest amounts of microbes on your skin are removed.
Thorough Hand-Washing Step-by-Step
Following the CDC’s step by step- Here’s how you use our Moisturizing Hand Soaps to ensure you’re washing your hands correctly.
- Wet hands with clean, running water, turn off the tap and apply soap.
- Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Be sure to apply to and lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
- Scrub hands for at least 30 seconds
- Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
- Dry your hands using a clean towel, or air dry them.
Did you lather enough? The World Health Organization notes that washing your hands properly takes about as long as singing “Happy Birthday” twice.
Scentuals Wishes You Good Health
It is always important to consider your own health and wellness practices and how they could be helping or hindering those around you. Cover coughs and sneezes, avoid touching your face, stay home when you feel under the weather and be sure to take the time to wash your hands thoroughly. These are all steps WHO recommends to fight those pesky germs and to promote good health for you and your loved ones this season.
