Do You Need to Put Skincare in the Fridge?

Does Skincare Need to Be Kept in the Fridge?

It’s summer and the temperatures are getting real hot.

You’re probably wondering...will my skincare products go bad in this heat?

Well, first things first: read what the packaging says.

If the skincare product needs to be placed in the fridge, the label will identify clear storage instructions, which you should follow. Although some skincare products require refrigeration, most skincare products aren’t perishable like food, and don’t need to be placed in the fridge.

If the product doesn’t require refrigeration, then placing it in the fridge is unnecessary and does not make the product more effective. We carefully formulated and performed stability testing on all of our products to ensure that they can be kept at room temperature.

However, some skincare products might feel nicer to apply on your face when they’re cold (especially in the summer). Placing some skincare items like serums, beauty oils, lotions, moisturizers/eye creams, reusable face masks, eye masks, or facial rollers in the fridge can also help with some swelling ー and simply feel super refreshing on the skin.

So, if you’re debating whether or not you should place your skincare products in the fridge, it really depends on the product itself and your personal preferences!
